The purpose of the VAC is to provide advice, guidance, recommendations, and technical assistance on matters relating to providing services to the persons served by RCOC.

VAC representatives are appointed by the RCOC Board of Directors and, in accordance with Welfare and Institutions Code, § 4622 (i), the VAC annually elects one of its appointed representatives to serve as the VAC Chairperson and concurrently represent VAC as a member of the RCOC Board of Directors.

Goals of the VAC

  • Participate in the development, review, evaluation, and dissemination of policies, regulations, and best practices relating to providing services to people with developmental disabilities.
  • Participate in the review and discussion of the changing support needs of persons with developmental disabilities and in the technical assistance needs of vendors.
  • Participate in the development, administration, and evaluation of community-based quality standards for services and supports provided by the vendor community.

The VAC typically meets on the second Tuesday of the month, and meetings are listed on RCOC’s Events Calendar.
