This presentation will focus on the legal mandates of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), key terms used in the Act and the importance of the Individual Education Program (IEP). Past and current decisions by the Office of Administrative Hearings will be shared and frequently asked legal questions will be answered. The parents’ role in the IEP is critical. Opportunities for involvement can continue through their local Community Advisory Committee.
