The Comfort Connection Family Resource Center at Regional Center of Orange County (RCOC) connects families who have children with special needs to resources and support. Most of Comfort Connection’s staff are parents of children with developmental disabilities, and many are bilingual.
In addition to acting as a resource to families, staff are available to present information to community groups regarding local resources, parent support and Regional Center of Orange County services.

Prevention Resource and Referral Services (PRRS)
Within Orange County, the Comfort Connection Family Resource Center administers Prevention Resource and Referral Services (PRRS).
This is a no-cost service to families with children birth to three years of age that provides expanded access to information, resources and referrals for parents and caregivers who have a child that may be at-risk for special needs services but may not meet the eligibility standards for more intense Early Start services. With your consent, Comfort Connection staff will work with families to identify resources and strategies to promote the child’s development and share the joys and challenges of raising a child. The PRRS team will stay in touch with the family to follow the child’s progress and to provide the family with information to expand knowledge and understanding on the child’s development.
CCFRC provides additional parent support via the Parent Connection program. Parent Connection matches trained volunteer peer parents who provide one-to-one ongoing support. Contact CCFRC at (714) 558-5400, if you would like to be connected to another parent and/or if you would like to be a volunteer peer parent.
