We’re Here to Help

Most of the staff are parents of children with developmental disabilities, and many are bilingual in English/Spanish or English/Vietnamese. They are also available to deliver community presentations about RCOC services and parent support in English, Spanish, and Vietnamese.

Learning Resources

Families can learn more about their loved one’s disability through our extensive library of books, articles, websites, videos, and DVDs covering specific developmental disabilities and therapies, behavior management, parenting and sibling dynamics, challenges and strategies, social and recreational opportunities, and much more. Many materials are available in Spanish and Vietnamese and can be picked up in Comfort Connection’s child-friendly office, sent to you, or accessed through the Community Resources page of this website. A listing of the books, published in both English and Spanish, can be seen by clicking here.

Parent-to-Parent Support

Our staff can help parents facing particularly challenging situations, such as a new diagnosis, surgery, or other medical condition, or a major transition for their family member, by creating a parent-to-parent match with parents who have been there and are available to share their experience and provide emotional support.

Community Events & Activities

As an important information hub for families we serve, Comfort Connection regularly sends emails in English, Spanish, and Vietnamese to inform parents about local events of interest. To get on the email list, contact your RCOC Service Coordinator. You can also view event listings on the Monthly Calendar.
